Cosa ti differenzia dai tuoi diretti concorrenti?
I was born in a British colony in Africa and grew up speaking English. I have an undergraduate degree in European languages and literature (English, French, Italian, German), and also hold a professional teaching diploma and an MBA. My previous work experience includes managing the public relations and strategic communications functions in large organisations, instructional design for international consultancies, and teaching English in both business and academic contexts to first and second language speakers of all ages. I love individual or small-group coaching situations with adult learners. My clients to date have included health professionals, chemical engineers, teachers, winemakers, business executives and post graduate students needing assistance with thesis writing or exam preparation.

Cosa ti piace del tuo lavoro?
The best part of teaching English as a foreign language is seeing students steadily improve and grow in confidence. My favourite thing to teach is pronounciation. It's miraculous how recognising the typical sounds and vowel/consonant patterns in English helps students not only to speak better but also to read and comprehend with an ease they never thought possible.

Quali domande ti fanno di solito i clienti e come rispondi?
Even students with a good grasp of English grammar rules want to know how long it will take them to speak more fluidly and understand spoken English more easily. My advice is to work with a mother tongue speaker in order to become familiar with the key pronounciation and spelling rules. These are quite tricky but once mastered, they really do unlock everything. Alongside formal lessons, learners should then make a daily habit of reading, watching and/or listening to English content with a notebook in hand to write down every new word or phrase that comes to their attention. Unfortunately once you're an adult, you don't acquire a new language by osmosis in the same way a child does. Every new detail needs to be fed into your brain with a conscious effort and then used consistently so you don't forget it - annoying but true. Like anything else worth doing, learning a foreign language requires hard work on a sustained basis. It does not happen in a matter of weeks or months. The upside of taking the trouble to become bi/tri/multilingual is that it expands your mind, your world view, and your life horizons in a way no other experience can. In my humble opinion, there's no better gift one can give oneself.
