Student of the IED in Milano is ripped off by the Samsung service.
Over 10 weeks Galaxy Book at Samsung-Service and no end in sight.
My daughter (German), student of the IED in Milan,
brought her 12” Samsung tablet to the service in Milan on October 7th because the battery was charging very slowly.
"Global Media Service" in Milan sent an estimate of 350 euros.
The LCD display and ASSY SUB PBA (charge controller) are to be repaired.
The edge of the display had a small crack of a few millimeters. The function was not affected, like millions of smartphones or other tablets.
We agreed to the estimate, also to avoid that the small crack might get bigger.
After more than two weeks, my daughter got the tablet now more defective than before. The battery was almost empty and could be charged even more slowly now.
The LCD display showed all colors with a strong green tint. For that she had paid 350 euros.
"Global Media Service" never reported in the weeks of the repair, I had to keep calling from abroad. In addition, my daughter went to “Global Media Service” in between - but was only put off without concrete information.
She brought the tablet back the next working day (10/28/2019). Since then there has been no information from the "Global Media Service" side.
On December 11th, after I had called several times from Germany, a new estimate came from "Global Media Service".
Here is the text from "Global Media Service":
“Dear customer, the external center has sent the results of the analysis.
Unfortunately, the fault does not concern the display (the part replaced by us)
but the battery and the motherboard, which should be replaced outside the
The cost is 535 euros.
If you wanted to accept the quote, we would give you 100 euro and a 30%
discount voucher to be used in the samsung shop.”
1.) All damage is not covered by the guarantee.
Why not? The only defect was the battery charge controller!
2.) After replacing the LCD, the main board is now defective.
This damage was caused by the “Global Media Service” technician who installed the new LCD. The LCD display was perfect before, except for the small crack in the glass on the edge.
There was also no damage to the main board before! There was never a problem with the tablet.
3.) According to your information, the battery is also defective, very strange.
But - that would also be a guarantee case.
To leave a student waiting over two months without information – Samsung, you should be ashamed of yourself. What an unchristian behavior.
In addition, considerable costs have arisen. My daughter needs a replacement device for the university for the time.
We expect the final solution by Friday, December 20, 2019 at the latest.
After that, we will file a lawsuit with the court in Milan.
